5 Things Your Christmas Table Should Not Be Without

01 Aug 2017

The Christmas season is fast approaching and with it comes Christmas parties. To have a successful Christmas party there are a number of things to consider in its planning. I will give you some tips and ham joint boiled in cider on dos and don'ts to keep in mind to help make that next Christmas Party a success.

Before actually learn how to bake a slow cooker gammon it is important to make sure that you buy and defrost it in time to prepare. Depending on the size of your ham it will probably take a good 24 hours to defrost your Easter ham dinner in the microwave. This is the safest way to do it though you can also run it under cold water for a couple of hours if you forgot to take it out of the freezer.

This amazing cooking ham Pinot Noir is from one of my personal favorite wineries Cancilla Cellars which is located in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon that I call home.

What to do? Leave it to the pros. Below is a sampling of Columbus-area restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving Day. Many will serve turkey and traditional fixings. Others will offer special menus.

Encourage your children's sense of humour. Whether you gave birth to a christmas ham or a wallflower, help your children let loose. Teach them to focus on the fun part of a challenge not on doing it perfectly. And if your daughter wants to wear her princess costume to school, dust off your tiara and wear it when you drive her. When your kids see you having fun and enjoying the lighter side of life, they'll learn how to laugh at themselves and positively deal with the hard times that are inevitably heading their way.

I often think about the freight I deliver and how it might make an impact on someone's life. Perhaps the steel beams that I delivered to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville will support the building where a doctor resides who will perform life-saving surgery on a child. Perhaps the lumber I delivered to Newnan, Georgia will make up a wall for the new home of a young couple that have worked and saved to realize their dream. As for the thousands of boxes of toilet paper I have delivered all over the country, well... that should darned near earn me a halo!

Using some of these dos and don'ts when planning your next Christmas party should help you have a successful, fun-filled Christmas party, enjoyed by everyone in attendance.
